Monthly Update - May 2015

BRAND NEW CALF

This sweet, little heifer calf was born to one of our milk cows this week. We're glad she arrived in between thunderstorms. No, we're not selling milk yet but we are continually working on our own dairy. We hope to be up and running by the end of the summer.

BULK ORDERS

Our next bulk orders will be available JUNE 25 & 27. Deposits are due Saturday, JUNE 6! Corriente & Angus beef, pork, and Alaskan Salmon are all currently available. Do you want to try our meat before you make a big purchase? Stop by our farm store this weekend and pick up some separate cuts.

"ORANGE" YOU GLAD YOU EAT UNM EGGS?

Because seriously, look at their color! Can't you tell these come from happy hens? The more grass a hen chooses to eat the darker the yolk is. They're nutrient-rich, full of flavor, and way better than any egg you can get at a grocery store. Pick up a dozen or two at the farm - $5.00/dozen

"DO YOU SELL ORGANS & BONES?"

This is the one question we are asked the most, so we now have a separate page on our website with all the information. Everything - head to tail - that we can use from our animals we have in the store. Interested in making beef broth? Want to add some ground heart to your favorite ground beef meal? This is the place to go! ORGANS & BONES

THE OTHER WHITE MEAT?

One is a beef rib steak, the other a pork shoulder steak. Can you tell which is which? Not all cuts are quite this dark, but real pastured pork is hardly "the other white meat". (Answer: pork on the left, beef on the right.) Pork shoulder steak is our new favorite cut we carry in our store - tender and delicious.
